The Other Art Fair

The Ultimate Art Weekend

The Other Art Fair Sydney, presented by Saatchi Art, is back for its fourth edition. Held at the Australian Technology Park from 22 to 25 March, this year’s fair is one with a difference. This is Australia’s favourite art fair to meet and buy art direct from 100 outstanding emerging artists. There is a new and exciting fair program this year: talks, guided tours, music, live art demonstrations, kid activities, food and drink and so much more! This year’s edition includes the participation of two artists with disability and an Auslan tour.

Auslan Tour

The Auslan tour is scheduled for Friday 23 March from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Places are limited, and online bookings are required. See the ‘Special Ticket Offer’ section below for more.

Two Artists with Disability

The Other Art Fair is pleased to announce two artists with disability who are exhibiting this year: Chelle Destefano and Angie Goto

Chelle Destefano

Chelle Destefano, a deaf visual artist, was born in Melbourne in 1979. She lived in Adelaide for 18 years and completed a bachelor of visual arts. Chelle returned to Melbourne at the end of 2017 to further her arts career in the rich artistic landscape of Victoria.

She has had great success with her Melbourne and European exhibitions over the past three years.

Chelle predominantly paints with watercolours, acrylics and mixed media, but has recently started to add sculpture in paper form and mixed medium form to her works both in 2D and 3D. Her works embody the emotions she has experienced over her lifetime. She also enjoys preserving history through painting historical buildings, old houses, as well as abandoned places. Her works are evolutionary in her sphere of creative expression, but retain a certain style that sets her apart.

Angie Goto

Angie Goto is an Australian deaf artist who loves to express herself through vivid paintings of images that inhabit her mind.

Her love of reading and painting have joined forces to create endless ‘stories’ on canvas that strive to recreate the scenery she has silently witnessed and participated in throughout her life. Being deaf has allowed her to experience a different take on life that has both its ups and downs. But if you ask her, the ups have far outweighed the downs!

Angie embraces the differences she sees in the human spirit, and constantly strives to bring awareness to all about our similarities rather than our differences. Working as a full time artist and part time Art Educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia enables her to be involved with the community in a meaningful and rewarding way.
