 In the mixed bag that was Term One of the Performance Workshops at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, participants developed skills in breathing, sound making, decision making and range of movement. The major focus this term was devising movement and performing.  So you think you can dance? Or at least you’ve always wanted to give it a go. The inter/ACT Street Dance holiday workshop will lead participants through the latest street dance moves, culminating in a performance for friends and family. A workshop in the latest street dance moves culminating in a performance. The workshops are open to 15 to 18 year olds of mixed abilities. Great for young people living with a disability and their friends and siblings. The workshop will be conducted over 3 days, each session is 3 hours.  An intensive introduction to camera acting techniques that no budding film star can miss. At the end of the workshop you’ll walk away with a tape of your work and a better understanding of how to act for the camera.  A practical workshop to impart valuable ‘tools’ and processes to creatively engage with communities. The workshop will be facilitated by Margie Breen, Accessible Arts and the Mixed Abilities Ensemble (PYT) featuring inclusive practice and techniques. Calling all B-Boys & B-Girls!! A two-day workshop with Hip Hop artist Morganics. Learn freestyling, beat boxing and beat production and create your own track. Also, exciting performance opportunities at Youth Week festivals in April. Festivals dates are Saturday 4 April The Burbs (Blacktown) and Sunday 5 April Bring It On! (Fairfield). Attendance at  Special Access Kit Powerhouse Youth Theatre, Riverside Theatres and Accessible Arts have teamed up to produce InterACT, a series of workshops in acting, movement and music making for people with and without a disability. Workshops to be run in the following areas: Monday 19 Jan – ACTING Tuesday 20 Jan – MOVEMENT Wednesday 21 Jan  Members of Nepean Area Disability Organisation and AFFORD Windsor joined forces at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery for an Introduction to Performance workshop facilitated by Katy Green. |
