 In the mixed bag that was Term One of the Performance Workshops at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, participants developed skills in breathing, sound making, decision making and range of movement. The major focus this term was devising movement and performing.  So you think you can dance? Or at least you’ve always wanted to give it a go. The inter/ACT Street Dance holiday workshop will lead participants through the latest street dance moves, culminating in a performance for friends and family. A workshop in the latest street dance moves culminating in a performance. The workshops are open to 15 to 18 year olds of mixed abilities. Great for young people living with a disability and their friends and siblings. The workshop will be conducted over 3 days, each session is 3 hours.  An intensive introduction to camera acting techniques that no budding film star can miss. At the end of the workshop you’ll walk away with a tape of your work and a better understanding of how to act for the camera.  A practical workshop to impart valuable ‘tools’ and processes to creatively engage with communities. The workshop will be facilitated by Margie Breen, Accessible Arts and the Mixed Abilities Ensemble (PYT) featuring inclusive practice and techniques. Calling all B-Boys & B-Girls!! A two-day workshop with Hip Hop artist Morganics. Learn freestyling, beat boxing and beat production and create your own track. Also, exciting performance opportunities at Youth Week festivals in April. Festivals dates are Saturday 4 April The Burbs (Blacktown) and Sunday 5 April Bring It On! (Fairfield). Attendance at both workshops is required. Performing at the festivals is optional. LIMITED PLACES – Book early!! Chris making hip hop tracks with Morganics When: Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 March 2009. Where: Powerhouse Youth Theatre, 19 Harris Street, Fairfield. Who: For young people with disability. From May to October, Penrith City Council will be holding the Toolkit Workshop Series, 6-workshops that explore the nuts and bolts of what puts a great Community Cultural Development project together. CCD projects are known for bringing together artists and communities to work creatively together with many positive benefits for those involved. Featuring guest speakers from across the arts, community and cultural sector it promises to be an inspiring program.
