Mixed Abilities Ensemble find Utopia

The Mixed Abilities Ensemble, an ensemble of performers with and without a disability, engaged in 15 weeks of skills development in theatre making and performance at Cabra Vale Leisure Centre in Cabramatta. This project was developed by Powerhouse Youth Theatre in partnership with Accessible Arts. On the final Saturday, an audience was invited to participate in a workshop led by the ensemble. Mixed Abilities Ensemble off to a great start – limited places still available

The Mixed Abilities Ensemble Training Program has begun! Western Sydney’s Creative Programs Coordinator, Alison Richardson commented “Cabravale Leisure Centre in Cabramatta didn’t know what hit them when their aerobic room was taken over by ten eager young performers.” This unique program is offering training in performance, voice and theatre making from three experienced tutors; Claudia Chidiac, Artistic Director of Powerhouse Youth Theatre; Aimee Falzon, voice tutor and Angela Hill, movement and dance choreographer. Mixed Abilities Ensemble

Accessible Arts has partnered up with Powerhouse Youth Theatre in Fairfield to develop a Mixed Abilities Ensemble (MAE) training program. This program grew out of the need for more skills development opportunities in the performing arts for people with a disability and will provide an integrated, supportive and professional environment – the first of its kind! Participants will work with highly experienced tutors, Angela Hill, Aimee Falzon and Claudia Chidiac to develop skills in movement, voice, performance and theatre making.
