 Accessible Arts has partnered with Powerhouse Youth Theatre to develop the Mixed Abilities Ensemble training program. The program was developed out of a need for more skills development opportunities in the performing arts for people with a disability.  Accessible Arts Western Sydney have just finished planning for the year and would like to let you know about some of the exciting programs we have install for 2008.  On 7 November, Bankstown City Council invited the disability community to a free workshop day at Chester Hill Community Centre where people with a disability, carers and service providers, can try different creative activities.  The Apprenticeship Training Program is a unique partnership between Accessible Arts & Julius Media, a college specialising in Entertainment Technical Training, and is the only one of its kind in Australia.  Ever wanted to know what happens behind the scenes of a theatre production, event or festival? Have an interest in sound, lighting and multi media operation? If this sounds like you then get involved in Accessible Arts’ Apprenticeship Training Program. Enrolment closes Monday 8 October 2007.  The Outreach Program delivered six workshops in sound and image collection to various special schools, support units, day programs and accommodation services across the Hawkesbury, Penrith and Blue Mountains region.
