Open Program workshops at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery
A 10 week drama workshop series including skills development in voice, movement, improvisation and character work. Participants must be able to commit to the full ten weeks.

Come and participate in this free practical workshop to increase your awareness about disability in a social context, barriers to participation for people with disability and developing practical strategies to use in your work context.
The Apprenticeship Training Program is a unique partnership between Accessible Arts & Julius Media, a college specialising in Entertainment Technical Training, and is the only one of its kind in Australia. Ten participants who identified as having a disability will undergo a 30 week training course at Parramatta Riverside Theatre on how to operate lighting & sound equipment for theatre and events. Upon completion of the course participants will receive a Certificate II in Live Production, Theatre and Events. The long term aim of the program is for graduates to gain further work experience, as well as employment opportunities by being introduced to key Western Sydney Arts organisations and councils.
Discover the Art of Shadow Puppetry and learn how to make, move and tell a story using a shadow puppets in these hands on practical workshops. Develop your skills over 10 weeks to create a short piece of theatre to perform on the Q Stage. And inbuilt literacy component in the workshop series will allow participants the opportunity to increase their literacy levels in a fun and creative way.

The Access All Art Community Art Exhibition is open to all community and professional artists living with a disability or living with or recovering from a mental health disorder who currently reside in the Blue Mountains City Council region.
A call for artists to exhibit their work is now open. Emerging, professional and first time artists are all encouraged to apply. Access All Art is being coordinated by Blue Mountains City Council under the umbrella of ArtSpace 2008 in partnership with Katoomba Neighbourhood Centre. 2008 Application Form and Guidelines can be downloaded from the Blue Mountains City Council website. Accessible Arts Western Sydney is looking for a casual tutor to run weekly workshops at either Blacktown Arts Centre or Hawkesbury Regional Gallery from July- September, 2008. The suitable tutor would have skills in one of the performing arts e.g. music making, movement, dance, performance, theatre making and either experience or the willingness to work with people with a disability.
Tutors local to Blacktown and the Hawkesbury area are strongly encouraged to get in contact.

The Mixed Abilities Ensemble Training Program has begun! Western Sydney’s Creative Programs Coordinator, Alison Richardson commented “Cabravale Leisure Centre in Cabramatta didn’t know what hit them when their aerobic room was taken over by ten eager young performers.” This unique program is offering training in performance, voice and theatre making from three experienced tutors; Claudia Chidiac, Artistic Director of Powerhouse Youth Theatre; Aimee Falzon, voice tutor and Angela Hill, movement and dance choreographer. Accessible Arts has partnered up with Powerhouse Youth Theatre in Fairfield to develop a Mixed Abilities Ensemble (MAE) training program. This program grew out of the need for more skills development opportunities in the performing arts for people with a disability and will provide an integrated, supportive and professional environment – the first of its kind! Participants will work with highly experienced tutors, Angela Hill, Aimee Falzon and Claudia Chidiac to develop skills in movement, voice, performance and theatre making. It will be held over the course of 15 weeks on Saturdays at the Cabravale Leisure Centre, Cabramatta and is open to people with and without a disability.
