Connecting communities

Plugged In celebrates a month of inclusive arts events and access initiatives by Western Sydney arts centres thoughout October 2010. Accessible Arts has been working with arts centres in Western Sydney to increase cultural activities, access and opportunities for people with disabilities living in the region.

Penrith Disability Arts and Culture Network

A regional disability arts & culture network for people who live or work in Penrith. The network seeks to inspire and motivate the arts and disability sector to engage in community capacity building through the development of opportunities for people with disability to participate and experience the arts and cultural life.

Skills Exchange Day

Major arts venues from across metropolitan Sydney came together for the exchange at Blacktown Arts Centre, to focus on and discus the development and delivery of tactile and audio-described tours.

Scoping Study

From April to September 2009, Accessible Arts undertook a scoping study of disability services in Western Sydney to determine their knowledge and use of arts centres in the region.

An Arts & Disability Forum in Western Sydney focusing on accessible and inclusive arts programs and practices. Guest speaker presentations and panel discussion at Riverside Theatres.
