<p>The Australia Council is running a series of funding forums across Australia in 2010. The events will give you information on our arts funding programs and how to increase the chances of having a successful application.</p>
<p>The forums will be most useful for first-time applicants.</p>
<p>The program will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>about the Australia Council (vision, priorities, project examples)</li>
<li>types of grants</li>
<li>examples of successful projects</li>
<li>tips for a successful application</li>
<li>Q&amp;A</li>
</ul>
<p>The forums are free and aimed at all current and aspiring artists and arts organisations interested to learn about what the Australia Council offers. The events are staged in partnership with the state arts agencies, who will provide information about their own funding opportunities.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Blue Mountains City Council Cultural Partnerships Program is a  strategic program, which aims to strengthen the City’s arts  infrastructure. It is intended to support artists and arts/cultural  organisations to develop sustainable arts practice, and to provide  benefits to the communities of the Blue Mountains through partnership  with Council and other agencies.</p>
<p>Council is seeking proposals for the 2010 Blue Mountains Cultural  Partnerships Program. Five grants will be made available for the amount  of $10,000 each. Applications will be assessed in June and decisions  advised in July 2010.</p>

<p>From Monday 12 April to Monday 24 May the  Auburn CDSE Committee will be accepting applications for funding under  the 2010 Community Development and Support Expenditure Scheme. This scheme enables registered clubs with an annual gaming machine revenue exceeding $1 million to apply 1.5% of their gaming machine revenue to specific community development and support projects.</p>
<p>The round will be opening Monday 1 March 2010 and closing 4pm Friday 9 April 2010.</p>
<p>To assist applicants, Council will be running two information sessions followed by a Grants Writing Workshop. The Grants Writing Workshop is a FREE workshop for people who write grant applications and want ideas and info on how to improve their chances of being successful.</p>

<p>Fairfield City Council’s Community Cultural Development grant program aims to encourage and support the creative based initiatives of artists and communities.</p>
<p>If you require an interpreter in your language or have accessibility requirements please contact Council on 9725 0757 five days prior to the scheduled session/workshop.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Holroyd City Council’s Community Assistance Program offers grants between $251 &#8211; $5,000 to support local non-profit community groups and services.</p>
<p>Applications are sought from non-profit organisations/community groups based in the Holroyd Local Government Area and/or principally serving the Holroyd area.</p>
<p>Priority will be given to projects that address the local community needs identified through Council’s community consultation process and documented in the relevant plans, eg: Holroyd’s Social Plan, City Health Plan and Cultural Plan.</p>
<p>Applications must be in line with the purpose of the Community Assistance Program which was established to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Support local community organisations which have little opportunity of obtaining funds from other sources. The application must be for a specific project, which benefits the community.</li>
<li>Provide one-off establishment grants to initiate new and innovative cultural and community development projects.</li>
<li>Consider applications to reduce hiring charges for local community facilities and similar matters.</li>
</ul>
<p>Council recognises the value of local community organisations and groups in providing a wide range of services to the Holroyd community and endeavours to support these organisations/groups in their efforts.</p>

<p>Applicants should follow the guidelines and complete the application form available on the Holroyd City Council website.</p>

The awarded projects must address Fairfield City Council’s priorities, which have been developed from Council’s Cultural Plan and State of the Community Report.</p>
<p>One off grants of up to $4000 are available to groups or organisations planning creative-based projects that involve local communities and make a contribution to the quality of life in Fairfield City.</p>
