The Community Development Support Expenditure (CDSE) Grant Scheme is a community development funding program sponsored by local clubs and administered by Parramatta Council. This scheme enables registered clubs with an annual gaming machine revenue exceeding $1 million to apply 1.5% of their gaming machine revenue to specific community development and support projects.
The round will be opening Monday 1 March 2010 and closing 4pm Friday 9 April 2010.
To assist applicants, Council will be running two information sessions followed by a Grants Writing Workshop. The Grants Writing Workshop is a FREE workshop for people who write grant applications and want ideas and info on how to improve their chances of being successful.

Holroyd City Council’s Community Assistance Program offers grants between $251 – $5,000 to support local non-profit community groups and services.
Applications are sought from non-profit organisations/community groups based in the Holroyd Local Government Area and/or principally serving the Holroyd area.
Priority will be given to projects that address the local community needs identified through Council’s community consultation process and documented in the relevant plans, eg: Holroyd’s Social Plan, City Health Plan and Cultural Plan.
Applications must be in line with the purpose of the Community Assistance Program which was established to:
- Support local community organisations which have little opportunity of obtaining funds from other sources. The application must be for a specific project, which benefits the community.
- Provide one-off establishment grants to initiate new and innovative cultural and community development projects.
- Consider applications to reduce hiring charges for local community facilities and similar matters.
Council recognises the value of local community organisations and groups in providing a wide range of services to the Holroyd community and endeavours to support these organisations/groups in their efforts.
Applicants should follow the guidelines and complete the application form available on the Holroyd City Council website.

Fairfield City Council’s Community Cultural Development Grant program aims to encourage and support the creative based initiatives of artists and communities. The awarded projects must address Fairfield City Council’s priorities, which have been developed from Council’s Cultural Plan and State of the Community Report.
One off grants of up to $4000 are available to groups or organisations planning creative-based projects that involve local communities and make a contribution to the quality of life in Fairfield City.

The Community Relations Commission provides funding assistance to organisations through its Community Development Grants Program. The program has been developed to support the objectives of the Commission as set out in the Community Relations Commission and Principles of Multiculturalism Act 2000.
Sponsorship Grants
Sponsorship grants are for special events such as annual festivals and major cultural events. This category will open again in December 2009 and April 2010. Applications must be submitted three months before the scheduled event.
The purpose of this category is to provide public support for an event or an occasion by the New South Wales Government through the Community Relations Commission. It will also promote the Commissions responsibility and the commitment of the Government of New South Wales to multiculturalism and the value of cultural diversity.
Examples of projects supported by funding in this category are:
- the hosting of seminars and conferences
- multicultural and inter-community forums
- local festivals and events
- teaching craft skills to target groups from a culturally diverse background.
The Commission will not accept sponsorship grant requests outside the funding periods. Funding of up to $5,000 is available in this category.

The Community Builders Funding Program is a community strengthening and capacity building program. It has funds available on an annual basis for time-limited projects in particular regions of NSW. The program is funded by the Department of Human Services NSW, Community Services.
Non-government organisations and local councils can apply for funding of $10,000 to $100,000 per annum, for between one and three years.
The Community Builders Funding Program is available in certain Local Government Areas (LGAs) including:
Metro South West
- Camden, Campbelltown, Wollondilly, Wingecarribee, Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool.
Metro West
- Auburn, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Holroyd, Parramatta, Penrith, The Hills.
Applications close 10 December 2009
The funding round will open 9.00am Monday 2 November, 2009 and will close at 12.00pm Thursday 10 December, 2009.
Funding of between $10,000 and $100,000 per year per project for a maximum of up to three years is available.

The 2009/10 Community Development Grants Program is now open. The Commission is pleased to advise the introduction of a new direction in grant applications with the creation of three grant categories in order to focus particularly on new and emerging communities. This will enable the Commission to better support the work of not-for-profit incorporated community organisations and to work in partnership with local government councils to address the needs of newly-arrived and emerging communities.
There are three categories of funding under the 2010 Community Development Grants Program:
Funding under this category is for twelve months duration, commencing from the payment of the grant. Projects may include the promotion of cultural expression, the enhancement of community development or capital purchases. Closing date is 2 October 2009.
Funding for-for-profit incorporated organisations for special events such as annual festivals and major cultural events. Closing date is 2 October 2009.
Local partnership grants
Funding for local government councils to enter into partnership agreement with the Commission to address the specific needs of newly-arrived or emerging communities. Closing date is 18 September 2009.

Bankstwon City Council’s 2009/10 Community Grants Program is now open. Local not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for funding for projects under the categories of Community Grants – includes Environmental, Youth Grants, Arts/Cultural Grants and Sport & Recreation Grants.

The Cultural Partnerships Program is an innovatory scheme providing both direct funding support and endorsement to strengthen and develop the cultural infrastructure of the Blue Mountains. The program seeks to encourage innovation, partnership and collaboration in arts development in the city and to develop regional links with other cultural providers. This year the Program is funded by the Blue Mountains City Council.
Fifty percent of the overall funding allocation will be allocated to artist/artworker fees. Funding will generally be in the range of $5,000-$7,500, for a limited number of partnerships.
