On 7 November, Bankstown City Council invited the disability community to a free workshop day at Chester Hill Community Centre where people with a disability, carers and service providers, can try different creative activities.
Accessible Arts ran three separate workshops in performance, music making and digital photography.
Alison Richardson and Jennifer Teo, from Accessible Arts, and Carolyn Teo, were the tutors.
Music Making with Kidipads
The music making workshop used an interactive system called Kidipads. Kidipads allows the user to trigger sounds and music samples using a series of switches. Any type of switch can be used and up to 8 sounds can be played at the same time.
During the workshop we recorded our voices and assigned the audio recordings to some of the switches. Thanks to the SoundHouse VectorLab for loaning us the equipment.
