Project Description

“We often don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are,” Anais Nin. Not What It Seems is a month long exhibition at Lismore Regional Gallery engaging a range of multimedia artists. Professional artists will work with emerging artists who identify as having a disability, to create audio and visual work about the 'nature of things'. An exhibition of works will be presented on shaped rear projection screens creating a forest of moving and static images that the viewer can move in and around. As the images and sounds transform, a meditation on how we see the world and how objects are influenced will be produced. The work will be developed through a series of workshops leading up to the exhibition at SeeSpace, Lismore's inclusive arts and media centre, 110 Magellan Street, run by RealArtWorks Inc.
