Dance initiatives seek to:

  • Build awareness in the arts and disability sectors
  • Inform debate in the field of inclusive dance
  • Support the teaching of dance to groups including ‘bodies of difference’ in mainstream classes
  • Support the Australia Council’s Dance Plan 2012, in “taking the artform into new territory through exciting collaborations.
  • Support the National Arts and Disability Strategy’s goal to “strengthen pathways into the creative sector.”

“Attitudes towards people with disabilities can only be challenged and changed if people without disabilities learn to recognise, appreciate and value difference as strength and an asset.”
Morgan Jai-Morincome
