Sydney artist Christopher Dobbin’s Untitled series are works on paper that depict the figure with human and animal-like features. While each creature is not recognisable as any particular animal it is somewhat reptilian in shape and is thus not completely unfamiliar either.

In Untitled 1, the figure appears as if propped up on a throne with what appears to be a crown resting on its enlarged head. Piercing blue eyes stare toward the viewer, accentuating the regal setting. The patterned background swirls, rises and falls around the naked figure; it's mouth open exposing a sparse scattering of fangs. Despite it’s animalistic appearance, the figure does not induce fear within the viewer. It seems to be gasping in a moment of vulnerability.
