Employable Me is a series produced for ABC TV which follows a range of people with disability as they search for jobs.

Highly successful first series

Audience analysis by the ABC of the first series showed clearly that Employable Me was impactful and educational and it reached a total audience of 2.046 million Australians! If you haven’t seen it, you can watch it on ABC i-view.

Second series in the wings

The second series will follow the highly regarded first series of the same name which focused on people with neurodiverse conditions such as Autism. In the second series, producers are hoping to include a broader range of people with disability, conditions and experiences. There will be three episodes of one hour each.

The search

Producers Northern Pictures are currently looking for participants to be filmed who just need a chance for employers to see what they can do, rather than concentrating on what they can’t.

Northern Pictures believes that the strength of Employable Me is in showing the capable person behind the disability or condition.

A collaborative approach

The producers are working closely and collaboratively with disability organisations, academic and clinical experts along with individuals and their families as they bring the series to fruition.

The schedule

Filming will commence from late August onwards. Agreeing to be involved could mean being filming on several occasions over a period of months.

Participants would be filmed in their home setting, with their family, while attending job interviews and in any work experience roles.

Who might be chosen for Employable Me?
