Arts volunteer opportunity to attend national arts conference
Orana Arts is offering funding for an arts volunteer from the Orana Arts region (residing in Dubbo, Gilgandra, Mid-Western, Narromine and Warrumbungle LGAs) to attend the Regional Arts Australia National Conference in Launceston, Tasmania, 26 - 29 August 2010.
The grant will cover delegate costs for one person who works as a volunteer in the arts community or as a practicing artist. This Grant is supported by Arts NSW with further assistance from Regional Arts Australia through the Regional Arts Fund.
The conference program is an exciting combination of festival, conference and entirely all art, featuring 150 speakers, 51 sessions, 17 hands-on workshops, and plenty of chances to meet new people, plus engaging international speakers. The program boasts inspiring sessions encouraging delegates to “re-imagine what the future of the arts in Australia can be”, with content particularly relevant to the one-in-three people who live in regional Australia. The complete conference program is available at www.junction2010.com.au.
Applicants do not have to be a formal part of an organisation or hold an executive position within a committee; you simply should be able to demonstrate your volunteer work in your local community.
All you have to do is provide the following information to Orana Arts:
- Name and contact details (address, telephone, email)
- Curriculum Vitae (no more than 4 pages) – detailing the organisation/s for which you volunteer, or in the case of artists, the genre and community in which you work.
- One page summary outlining what benefit you will receive from attending the conference and how your attendance will positively impact the Orana Arts region.
