Studio Q: Shadow Puppetry and Acting workshops

Workshops : Penrith : 12 Feb - 25 Jun 10 : Studio Q is offering two exciting inclusive workshops in 2010 including the popular Shadow Puppetry workshop and an Acting workshop.

SHADOW PUPPETRY

Participants will work with tutor Stephen Carr to write and develop original stories that will be told through the magic of shadow puppetry. Participants in this workshop will learn skills in storytelling, creating shadow puppets and literacy.

ACTING

Participants will work with their tutor to create and develop an original short play that they will perform at Performance Showcase. Participants in the Acting workshop will learn skills in acting, improvisation, storytelling and performing.

Both the Acting and Shadow Puppetry workshops encourage group co-operation, communication, social interaction and self confidence.

Both workshops will take place on Friday from 10 -1pm beginning 12 February 2010. Participants of both workshops will work towards developing an original performance for the Studio Q 2010 Performance Showcase at 8pm on Saturday 26 June 2010.

Bookings are essential as workshop spaces are limited.

When: Every Friday, 10:00am - 1:00pm. Semester One: 12 February to 25 June 2010.

Where: Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, 597 High Street, Penrith NSW

Cost: $255 per participant for a 17 week semester ($15 per week). Please note due to demand workshops must be paid in advance however staggered payment plans are available. Please contact Katrina Douglas to discuss payment options.
