Vision Australia presents information sessions on Audio Description across Sydney
For over 15 years Vision Australia has been leading efforts to increase the provision of Audio Description in Australia. Now, in partnership with Media Access Australia, information seminars are being presented about this access service, to further inform the arts sector about how Audio Description can improve access to the arts, cinema, TV and home entertainment.
Audio Description can be described as “putting into words the picture that a sighted person can see”. It is used in association with live theatre; at museums, art galleries and other visual arts events; and to enhance television, cinema and home entertainment DVDs.
Audio Description Information Seminars will be held in Sydney:
- Monday 25 May Vision Australia, Enfield, 1:30 – 3:30pm
- Monday 25 May Ensemble Theatre, 78 McDougall Street, Kirribilli, 6:00 – 8:00pm
- Tuesday 26 May Riverside Theatre, 353c Church St Parramatta, 2:00 – 4:00pm
