Sydney Opera House launches Access Diary
Sydney Opera House has a new online access diary that promotes audio described and captioned performances.
The access diary lists all assisted performances planned for 2009 and provides a platform for a variety of access information including a timetable for the complimentary shuttle bus service that operates from Circular Quay to the Sydney Opera House, a mobility map and how to book performances online. An access brochure is also available to download, outlining general access information for wheelchair users, accessible toilets, hearing assistance in theatres and accessible parking. Access information is also available in MP3 audio file and other alternative formats.
Jenny Spinak, Program Manager Accessibility at the Sydney Opera House explains, "We aim to make information about access at Sydney Opera House more accessible to all people in the community and will shortly publish an online Access Newsletter to further inform people about upcoming access activities and developments with our access upgrades and projects”.
