Festival of Dangerous Ideas Closed-Captioning

06/12/2012 - Sector News

As part of the celebration of International Day of People with Disabilities, Sydney Opera House has launched the top four Festival of Dangerous Ideas (FODI) 2012 online talks with closed-captions.

Sydney Opera House is in the process of ensuring that pre-recorded online videos are close-captioned, in line with the NSW State Government requirement that all agencies' websites meet WCAG 2.0 Level A compliance.

Within the next six months all of the 2012 FODI talks online will be closed-captioned as well as an increasing number of other online talks and interviews to allow the 4.5 million people with a hearing loss to access such content.

Clicking the CC icon on the new accessible player accesses the captions.
