Mad Pride Youth Event 2011

Callout : Eveleigh: 1 July 11 : Participants wanted for the event that breaks down the stigmas associated with mental health experiences through arts and culture.

This year the Sydney Mad Pride Youth Event will transform the Eveleigh rail yards into a carnival of live performance, live music, film and visual arts.

Contributers wanted for the following:

  • Talent Quest (cash prizes)
  • Breakdancing Competition
  • Live bands
  • Short films
  • Trash and treasure stalls

The annual event aims to raise awareness of dual diagnosis (coexisting mental health & substance use issues) and address taboos associated with young people’s access to mental health services.

When: Friday 1 July 2011

Where: Weave Arts Centre, 231 Wilson St, Eveleigh

Who: Young people (12-26yrs) who access mental health services in Sydney
