Access Development

Fridaze Exhibition at Carriageworks Accessible Arts consults to arts and community organisations to assist them with making venues accessible, services more inclusive, marketing to the disability sector and strategic initiatives that promote access and full inclusion.

We offer services including training in Disability Awareness, reviewing Disability Inclusion Action Plans, and undertaking Access Appraisals of arts and cultural organisations. Future services include workshops in “How to develop you Disability Inclusion Action Plan”, and facilitating focus groups to provide essential feedback to arts and cultural organisations.

As part of our Access Development, information resources and guides are regularly produced and available to assist arts managers address disability inclusion. Accessing the Arts information sheets and checklists provide support for venue managers to marketing directors. We support industry professional development through facilitating regular meetings of Accessing The Arts Group (ATAG), hosting forums and by direct consultation. Accessible Arts occasionally undertakes model projects to explore, demonstrate or promote the importance of inclusive frameworks and environments to enable access and participation for all. Some projects include the Walsh Bay Sculpture Walk app, Youth Arts Access program and partnering with Sculpture by the Sea.
