Access Information


The Arts Activated Conference is being presented at The Powerhouse Museum, Australia’s largest museum, located at 500 Harris Street Ultimo. The venue is close to public transport and to popular Sydney destinations including Chinatown, Darling Harbour, Central Station and Paddy’s Markets.

Venue Access

The Powerhouse Museum is an accessible venue. Accessible amenities are available on levels 1, 2 and 4 and in the Courtyard. There is ramp access available from street level and from the Entertainment Centre car park. There is also lift and ramp access to each level. Rest points throughout the foyer and power sources within or close to these areas will be available. All conference breakout rooms are wheelchair accessible, however the Target Theatre has a limit of 5 audience wheelchair spaces.

Program Access

Accessible Arts aims to provide equitable access within its available resources. Please refer to the program for information on availability of audio description, Auslan interpretation, open captions and assistive listening devices throughout the conference sessions.

Public transport

Public transport to the Powerhouse Museum includes train, bus, metro monorail and light rail. Full details and timetables are available at the Powerhouse Museum website. Another useful resource when planning your trip is the Accessible Transport website.

Parking

Discount parking is available to Powerhouse visitors at the Entertainment Centre Car Park. Free accessible parking for people approved to use disabled parking is available at the Museum. The number of spaces are limited, so bookings are required at least two days before visiting. For more information tel: 02 9217 0505.

Companion Card

The Arts Activated Conference accepts the Companion Card. Companions will be required to register and will only incur a cost for catering.
