Disability Inclusion Training

We provide Disability Inclusion Training for managers, policy makers, frontline staff, cultural advisers, small businesses and creative practitioners.

We offer practical and innovative solutions to give you the confidence to welcome people with disability to your venue, provide inclusive experiences and make accessibility a natural and integrated part of what you do. The information and skills development gained from this training is crucial for effective delivery of arts strategy, arts and culture programs, festival events and quality customer service.

We run several general Disability Inclusion Training sessions each year, which are 2.5 hours in length and held at the Arts Exchange in the Rocks. The next is in on Tuesday 20 February from 10am – 12.30pm. Book your ticket.

Each general session covers:

  • The rumours and realities of the disability experience
  • Communicating with respect and confidence
  • Access barriers and creative solutions

Training modules will also include the NDIS, principles of Disability Action Planning and the four pillars of the Disability Inclusion Act (attitudes and behaviours, liveable communities, employment and processes/systems).

The benefit of these Disability Inclusion Training sessions include networking, sharing and learning from the diverse experience in the room and potential collaboration and partnership opportunities.

Organisations that we have provided training to in 2017 include the Art Gallery of NSW, Blacktown Arts Centre, Musica Viva, Sydney Film Festival, Sydney Festival, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Museum of Contemporary Art and Kaldour.

“Thank you for providing this session. I am determined now to make some important changes within my organisation.”
