Maryanne Ireland
BA (Hons) Psych, BAVA and Post Grad Dip in Visual Arts, MVA
Maryanne has been a practicing visual artist based in Newcastle for the last ten years. Working predominantly in photo-media Maryanne has exhibited in group and solo shows in both Sydney and Newcastle. Maryanne brings a personal experience of physical disability to her role as Chairperson of the Board of Directors. Maryanne continues her history of working in the disability sector in her current role as an Official Community Visitor appointed by the Minister.
Chrissie Tucker
AHRI Dip HR
Chrissie is currently the Manager Diversity, a national position in the People and Learning Division of the ABC, located at Ultimo, Sydney. This position develops, implements, monitors and reports on the ABC's Equity and Diversity Plan. The areas covered include: gender, disability, race/ethnicity, Indigenous, work/life balance, age and discrimination, harassment and bullying. Chrissie is an Executive member of the NSW EEO Practitioners' Association (NEEOPA) and a member of the Leading Practice Forum of the Diversity Council of Australia.
Sarah-Jane Rennie
BA (Hons), B App.Sci (Cons.Cult.Mat), MA (Public History)
Sarah-Jane is the Manager of Sector Development at Museums & Galleries NSW. In thisrole she oversees development programs for the museum and gallery sector in NSW. Prior to working with M&G NSW, Sarah-Jane worked as a conservator in museums, galleries and private settings. She has contributed to a variety of cultural publications and training packages on a range of topics including preventive conservation, significance assessment and the development of museums and galleries in heritage buildings. Sarah-Jane currently sits on the boards of ArtsTraining NSW and is a member of the National Standards Taskforce for the museum and gallery sector.
Josh Dowse
BA (Hons), LLB, MEnvLaw&Econ
Josh is a director of Dowse CSP, a sustainability and communication firm. He has worked on diverse corporate and government projects with Dowse CSP, Macquarie Group and McKinsey & Co., as a publisher with Allen & Unwin, and as a solicitor. He co-founded the Sustainable Business Forum in Sydney and continues to search for ways to achieve social, environmental and economic sustainability.
Suzanne Becker
BSW (Hons) Dip Disaster Welfare Management
Suzanne has worked in the disability and welfare sector for more than three decades. Suzanne held the position of General Manager of Windgap Foundation Limited, for 21 years until 2007. This was followed by a period of consultancy to the disability and community services sector until her recent appointment as CEO of Lifestart Co-operative Limited. Suzanne previously taught at the University of New South Wales in the School of Social Work after working in local government and a not for profit organisation. Suzanne sits on a number of advisory committees in the disability sector.
Dougie Herd

Dougie migrated from Scotland to Australia in 1999 to take up the position of Executive Officer of the Physical Disability Council of NSW, the State’s peak body for people with Physical Disability. He was given Permanent Residency status in 2004 on the basis of being a “Distinguished Talent” with an international standing of excellence in the field of social justice and the rights of people with disability. Dougie now holds the position of Executive Officer of the Disability Council of NSW.
Lisa Havilah
Lisa Havilah has recently been appointed Director of Carriageworks, Sydney. From 2005 – 2010 Lisa was the Director of Campbelltown Arts Centre. Under her directorship Campbelltown Arts Centre pioneered a multidisciplinary contemporary arts program, bringing together artists and communities across disciplines to examine ideas through the processes of producing contemporary art. Lisa was previously Assistant Director of Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (1998–2004). Lisa specialises in the intersection between contemporary art and community engagement. She has developed and managed a range of national and international exchange, exhibition and residency programs. Curatorial projects include Anita & Beyond (2003), For Matthew & Others: Journeys with Schizophrenia (2006), What I think About When I think about Dancing (2009) and Edge of Elsewhere Edge of Elsewhere (2010-12).
